Fixed wire testing or EICR
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is an examination of a building or workplace’ Electrical distribution and wiring systems. This inspection is recommended every five years, or at a change of occupancy. An EICR inspects the condition of the Electrical distribution system and will highlight any remedial work that may be required.
KPFM perform EICR inspections at a time that is most convenient to the business. We understand that inspecting Electrical systems during a working day can be disruptive, so we operate with minimal disruption to daily operations.
We can efficiently review your Electrical Installations, providing a detailed report without causing any unnecessary downtime.
Lighting
Good lighting is essential, faulty or broken lights damage the appearance of a building or workplace. Well maintained lighting reflects the care, and attention to detail, of a business.
, KPFM provides planned and reactive maintenance on both internal and external lighting systems to ensure they remain in good working order. Our team will ensure that no lights are faulty, loosely fitting, or have any defects that may cause them to lose power.
We will work during unsociable hours if required, so that repairs can be completed without causing inconvenience to your business or people.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
The purpose of Portable Appliance Testing is to establish the safety and integrity of your electrical appliances, by means of visual examinations and electronic tests. These tests should only be performed by competent individuals who have the knowledge and training to safely test electrical appliances, without harming themselves or others.
There are no mandatory requirements as to how often portable appliances should be tested. However, the Health & Safety Executive states that it is an employer's duty to protect the health and safety of their employees, and others who may be affected by their business.
Electrical appliances that are frequently used in the workplace, such as kettles, photocopiers and vending machines risk the chance of becoming faulty or suffering a defect. If left unchecked, this could pose a threat to the health and safety of employees and visitors to your site.

Gas Safety inspections
Businesses, buildings and workplaces should ensure the their CP12 certificate is renewed annually according to Gas Safety Regulations. The CP12 certificate means that gas appliances have been checked against the criteria set by the HSE to meet compliance. Installation and maintenance of gas equipment must be installed by competent engineers listed on the Gas Safe Register.
If there is commercial catering equipment on the premises then you will need a CP42 certificate to confirm the annual commercial gas catering safety inspection has been completed.
It is also recommended that you have your gas distribution and service pipework inspected annually and a Commercial Gas Safety Certificate will be issued.
